Susana O'Docharty - Capturing the images of our lives.
Fine Art Photographer
I am a free-lance photographer. Natural lighting is a key influence with very little manipulation to the original image.
I am a sixth generation Texan with a Venezuelan mother. I spent the first 18 years in Venezuela where I became deeply rooted in latin culture & expatriate life. Paternally connected to Texas, I have a strong connection to my Irish-Texan roots.
From the deep love of South America and Texas, I often incorporate and depict my dual heritage that was central to my upbringing. From the carnivals at Mardi Gras' to latin culture that remind me of South America to the rural areas of Texas. I don't choose...I am drawn to both sides.
My love of photography started in 1970 at age 10. I bought a used 35mm camera and received an SX-70 polaroid camera from my father. I started out in a traditional darkroom learning from Polish photographer Krystof Plaszewski, who was very instrumental in the pursuit of my passion.
